amphitrite – material setup

i was asked about the material of amphitrite in a comment, so i like to show the setup here. the attribute col contains the vertex paint. i just made it with the standard settings, it took long enough, and corrected the values via the colorramp. to do this, i usually first plug the the diffuse directly into the material output. now i can see the vertex paint colors alone directly on the sculpture when doing a testrender, or viewport rendering… i push the sliders of the colorramp until i have the vertexpaint look like i think is good, then i plug in the nodes to receive this shader: (please, click to enlarge)


for a marbe shader always the lightning is very important, the strongest light should be from back or side, since front light makes the marble effect vanish… hope this helps…
